For those who have played the Loco “regular edition” there aren’t many changes to comment about in this Christmas Edition. The most remarkable would be the theme aesthetic change. You’ll be seeing Santa’s hats, reindeers and sleighs everywhere. Besides, the background story is based on the presents’ delivery that Santa has to take care of. For those who haven’t played the previous edition, let’s try to briefly describe what this game is about.
The game basically consists in creating matches of two same color pieces. One of the pieces is loaded in a train wagon which is progressing to a tunnel. The other one is thrown away by you from an arc-and-arrow sort of thing. This particular shooting thing can rotate 360 degrees on its vertical axis so you can aim the pieces you want to hit. Each piece of “ammo” is represented by a Christmas style object. Bells, Santa’s hat, among others objects, each one of a specific color. The whole idea is to unload the whole train in order to release it, so it can go to pick up Christmas presents. Each time you create a match, that loaded piece will disappear. The train progresses on a very curvy railroad so it can get tricky to hit the correct pieces. If you miss a shoot and hit a piece with a different color, you can take it back by clicking on it with your right mouse button
When you first enter the game, you’ll be asked for a player name and then you’ll see the welcome screen with the following options on it:
